Music Makes Our World Go ‘Round!

St. Louis is a city built on music, and we’re so proud to be a part of it! As performers we understand and appreciate the powerful effect that music has in our lives. The right song can move you to tears, fire you up to take on a challenging project, or raise your spirits and make you feel like dancing again!

The songs that we perform to here at The Boom Boom Room all serve a purpose and give us meaning. They propel us further, make us stretch higher, and give us that extra little boost of energy in our twirls and shimmies. We play them so we can give you the best performance and experience possible!

As you probably know, we always kick things off with our clever and ever-saucy (but never raunchy) hostess-with-the-mostest, Lulu LaToosh. We like to give this lovely lady her own number from the musical Chicago – “When You’re Good to Mama” (in this case, LuLu!). When you’re good to our hostess, she’ll always be good to you!

We enjoy jumping into the way-back machine and cranking out some of the oldies but goodies. We’ll channel our inner Marilyn Monroe with the classic “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” from the musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. We also can’t say no to one of the most classic jazz tune, “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.” This song introduced the term “swing” into everyday lingo, and we just love it!

You can bet on having the time of your life when we pump up the volume to some of our faster-paced new age modern swing tunes. “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” always gets us in our groove! And of course, “The Rhythm of the Night” from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack is sure to put a smile on your face! We can’t help it – the pulsating percussion, thumping bass, and screaming trumpets just make us dance like never before!

Which song of ours is your favorite? Tell us in the comments below! If you’ve never experienced one of our shows, you are missing out! Check our schedule and be sure to come see us really soon!
